Linling Lu: Circle Dance, Acquired by Johns Hopkins University, Installed at School of Education

In the year of 150th anniversary of Johns Hopkins University in 2026, Linling Lu: Circle Dance, is now installed at the newly renovated Johns Hopkins School of Education, today a recognized global leader in education research, policy, and practice. In the School of Education printed “Passport” guide, Circle Dance is the 8th Stop: “Mission and Vision & Circle Dance Fine Art”.

In 2023, the Johns Hopkins Art Collecting Committee, made up of a large group of students, alumni, faculty, and staff, visited artist Linling Lu in her Baltimore studio. In 2024 the committee made the selection of the artwork in collaboration with BmoreArt's Connect + Collect. Arting Gallery was greatly honored to bridge the acquisition process as exclusive representation of Linling Lu’s work.

The Circle Dance installation measures 160 W x 103 H inches, including 10 pieces of 32 inches diameter individual circles in a looping composition. Designed by Linling Lu and custom made in the USA meeting highest standards in the industry, the archival edition set (2/7) was based on Lu’s same titled painting composition exhibited in The Delaware Contemporary Museum in 2021. The edition set was also included in the 2025 exhibition: Strong, Bright, Useful & True: Recent Acquisitions and Contemporary Art from Baltimore at the Irene and Richard Frary Gallery of Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C.
